It's that time of the year again when we gaze at the amazing collections by these ace designers and think over what we can do to get into them!
Fashion Weeks are my favourite part of the fashion calendar. We get see so much of pristine talent, that blurs the fine line between art and design.
This season of Lakme Fashion week has got everything you need to start prying for your Diwali outfit!
These four days are looked upon by every fashion inhabitant! may it be you or me.
This year you will glimpse the participation of 92 designers including five new faces!
Talking of yesterday nights show of absolute masterpieces at the St.Regis, The collection is an ode to the renowned sculptor Mrinalini Mukherjee and her bronze sculptures.
And as we all know Tahiliani never fails on the runway, he proved it yet again.
Tahiliani has clearly kept the tone of his new collection earthy and grand. The collection highlights darker tones of the colour palette; charcoal black, brown, wine red and olive green.
There was texture play in the form of woven textiles, embroidery, fringing, crochet, and prints that looked 3D, creating the illusion of texture. The collection also showed off Tarun Tahiliani’s mastery of drapes by featuring them extensively, especially in the form of shawls and draped skirts.
I especially liked the silhouettes which were primarily Indian wear with modern touches like capes, cowls and gilets. In this collection, art and fashion share a symbolic relationship.
The collection is punctuated with the tones of contemporary artists. Satin, cotton, and tulle are dominating this season in his collection. Fringes were the new trend beacon! Judging by the collection, it seems frills are going to rule this season.
The models sported dark glittery lips which is the one trend I'm sure we all are waiting to try this festive season! The showstopper was none other than the Queen of Bollywood herself, Kangna Ranaut.
What I loved the most was the ever so thoughtful ramp setup! which was a scribble of fine white strings.
Some other known designers who will participate in the fashion week are Ritu Kumar, Shantanu & Nikhil, Atsu Sekhose, Antar-Agni, Kallol Datta, Kunal Rawal, Suhani Pittie and Arjun Saluja. Also, Goan designer Wendell Rodricks will be launching the first-ever Standard Indian Women's Size chart, which he has been trying to create since 1988.
All in all, the show was a fashion delight. Can't wait to see the imminent shows!
